2025–2026 Spiritual Theme: Luke 9:23

“Take Up Your Cross Daily”

"Then He said to them all, ‘If anyone would come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow Me.’" – Luke 9:23

At Athens Bible School, we begin each year with a spiritual theme to help us grow closer to God and walk more intentionally with Him. For the 2025–2026 school year, we are focusing on Jesus' words in Luke 9:23—a verse that reminds us what it really means to be His disciple.

This verse will help shape our conversations, our chapel messages, and our hearts as we encourage one another to:

Deny self – choosing to live with humility and put others first

Take up our cross daily – being faithful even when it’s hard

Follow Jesus – walking in His footsteps every day

It’s a simple verse, but it calls us to something deep and lasting. At ABS, we’re not just preparing students for college—we’re helping them learn how to live for Christ. We pray this theme helps each of us—students, staff, and families—live with greater purpose and devotion.

This year, let’s help each other truly take up our cross and follow Him. Daily.
