Elementary: Strong Roots, Bright Futures
At Athens Bible School, our elementary program provides a strong academic foundation within a Christ-centered environment where every child is known, loved, and challenged. We use the nationally recognized Stanford Achievement Test (SAT) series to assess student progress and guide instruction. On average, our students score at levels that reflect academic aptitude, two full grade levels above their current grade, and for over a decade, ABS students have consistently ranked above the 80th percentile nationally.

Curriculum Highlights:
Rigorous phonics-based reading and language arts program
Writing instruction based on Structure and Style for Students (IEW)
Hands-on, mastery-based Saxon Math
Inquiry-based science with biblical integration
Weekly enrichment classes including art, music, P.E., and library
Bible instruction and memory work woven into daily learning
Technology tools that enhance learning without replacing foundational skills
Our students actively participate in weekly chapel services, with opportunities to lead songs, read Scripture, and engage in meaningful worship. They also take part in age-appropriate service projects throughout the year, learning to put faith into action by serving others.
Parent involvement is highly valued at ABS. Families are encouraged to partner with teachers through classroom activities, service events, and school-wide programs. We believe that when school and homework together, children flourish—academically, spiritually, and socially.
At ABS, your child will be nurtured, challenged, and equipped to grow in both knowledge and character—preparing them for success in school and in life.

Bobby Graham began working at ABS August 1967. He taught English, Bible, 5th and 6th Grades, Elementary Chapel, and Elementary Bible. He has also served as Elementary Principal, Assistant Principal, and Principal-President. All three of Mr. Graham’s children graduated from ABS. In addition to chapel, Mr. Graham teaches 5th and 6th grade Bible.
“I came to ABS to teach in a different kind of environment and to change young lives through Bible teaching.”
