Third Grade H.A.S.P. (2006-2007)
Mrs. Bauer's third grade class is studying a H.A.S.P. unit about chemicals.

The third graders are sporting safety goggles this week as they mix unknown chemicals and observe mixtures, suspensions, solutions, and chemical reactions. Through their investigations, they will discover the identity of 5 white mystery chemicals. One will give off oxygen bubbles when mixed with vinegar, one will change color when mixed with cabbage juice, and one even smells like cotton candy when heated. They're enjoying these hands-on activities and learning a lot in the process. |
