Athens Bible School holds a very unique position in the Athens-Limestone County area as a school that offers "Better Education on a Better Foundation". Athens Bible School consistently provides a well-rounded education for its students by teaching them how to succeed in life spiritually, academically, physically, and socially.
Athens Bible School excels academically through the hard work of our talented teachers, administration, and staff, who are the heart of the school.
Our student-teacher ratio averages about 19 students per teacher.
Class averages on the S.A.T. scores are two grade levels above the grade the children are in.
We offer advanced and regular diplomas, and Dual Enrollment College English, History and Spanish courses.
100% of the 2012 class graduated with all but one graduate attending college.
In the last 20 years, we have graduated 18 National Merit finalists, semi-finalists or commended students.
We offer a number of athletic opportunities. Our teams are competitive in both the county and the state, and currently Athens Bible School has a total of 10 state championships and 19 state runners-up. The students are held to a high standard of sportsmanship that is noticed and respected by our community. Athens Bible School is 1 of only 5 schools in the state of Alabama to have been awarded the AHSAA Sportsmanship award for 4 straight years.
The students are offered a broad spectrum of both in-school and extracurricular activities, including clubs, student government, and enriching on-hands learning opportunities to participate in together. Through both their education and extra-curricular opportunities, the students build friendships that will last.
At the heart of our mission is the desire to train our students to love the Lord and be obedient to His Word. To this end, ABS offers daily Bible classes for all students. Students also participate in a daily chapel assembly, which provides the opportunity to reflect on a message from God's word as well as to sing and pray every morning.
Athens Bible School has much to offer: the tradition and experience that comes with sixty-five years of service to the students and the community, and the natural excitement of children who love their school, where they are sure to receive a “Better Education on a Better Foundation!”
